Gamera, resurrection. "GAMERA -Rebirth-" New Production and Global Distribution on Netflix!

Production of the new work "GAMERA -Rebirth-" of the giant monster "Gamera," that has been loved by monster fans all over the world from the Showa era to the Heisei era, has been announced!

From the Showa era to the Heisei era, Kadokawa has decided to produce a new work "GAMERA -Rebirth-" (ガメラリバース, Gamera Ribāsu）of the giant monster "Gamera", that has been loved by monster fans all over the world from the Showa era to the Heisei era

In addition, it will be released worldwide on Netflix!

To commemorate the revival of Gamera, Kadokwa hasl released two powerful teaser visuals at the same time.

When I came up with my own concept for Reiwa Gamera and made a proposal, Kadokawa had already started a new project. It's content makes me think that's what happened, so I have high expectations. With that in mind, I would like to approach this project from the standpoint of a baseball commentator who has experience coaching the Gamera team and offer my support the team until they take the plate again and win the championship.

Bandai hosted a Tamashii Nation figure exhibition this weekend! During the event, a special "Gamera Newspaper" revealing the new Gamera's appearance was distributed at the venue.

▼What is "Gamera"?

Gamera is a monster that was introduced in the special effects movie GAMERA THE GIANT MONSTER (大怪獣ガメラ, Daikaijū Gamera, released by Daiei (now: Kadokawa) in 1965 (Showa 40).

Gamera is an ally of children and justice who protects people from the dangers on the earth. He has a unique personality, a humorous designs modeled on turtles, and the ability to fly.

It gained popularity for its unique style, such as spinning flight in a disk shape, and its brave appearance that can stand up to any formidable enemy. A total of 8 works were produced as part of the Showa Gamera series from GAMERA THE GIANT MONSTER to GAMERA SUPER MONSTER (宇宙怪獣ガメラ, Uchū Kaijū Gamera, 1980).

After that, the "Heisei Gamera Trilogy" (1995-99) and GAMERA THE BRAVE (小さき勇者たち～ガメラ～, Chīsaki Yūsha-tachi Gamera, 2006) were produced.

▼「ガメラ」とは

大映（現：KADOKAWA）が1965年（昭和40年）に公開した特撮映画『大怪獣ガメラ』に登場する怪獣。

ガメラは地球の危機から人々を守る、子供や正義の味方であり、カメがモデルとなったユーモラスなデザインや飛行能力など独特の個性を持つ。

円盤状で回転飛行をするなどのユニークなスタイルと、どんな強敵にも立ち向かう勇敢な姿に人気を博し、『大怪獣ガメラ』以降も『宇宙怪獣ガメラ』まで昭和ガメラシリーズとして全8作品が製作された。

その後も「平成ガメラ三部作」や、『小さき勇者たち〜ガメラ〜』のガメラシリーズが展開されている。
