Based on a famous publicity still of Godzilla`s attack on Shinagawa Station in the original GODZILLA (???, Gojira, 1954), Oyama`s sculpt depicted the King of the Monsters clutching a passenger train in his hand and jaws, and came with a display base featuring the ruins of the Sukiya Bridge in Ginza. In February 2016, X-Plus offered a monochrome, soft vinyl version of Oyama`s Godzilla as part of their Toho 30cm Series, with the figure was painted in grey tones to replicate the look of the black-and-white movie. This month, X-Plus will release two new editions of the "Biting Train" figure. The first is the Color Version, sold exclusively thru the company`s Shounen Ric website. Painted in "total natural colors" inspired by the original Japanese film posters, this version features a green train. The figure also comes with a new, battery-powered light-up feature for Godzilla’s dorsal fins. The second edition is the Wonder Festival Event Exclusive painted Godzilla with white eyes (in the style of Godzilla`s appearances in GODZILLA, MOTHRA & KING GHIDORAH: GIANT MONSTERS ALL-OUT ATTACK and ALWAYS- SUNSET ON THIRD STREET- 2) and holding a red train. Unlike the Shounen Ric version, there is no light-up gimmick. The production run for the Event Exclusive Godzilla 1954 is limited to 100 pieces. 50 figures will be sold during Wonder Festival at the X-Plus booth on a first-come, first-served basis. The remaining 50 will be offered by Shounen Ric, which will hold an online lottery to purchase the figure via mail order. Recommended for fans and collectors ages 15 years and older.
