Sony Pictures Announces Comic-Con 2012 Exclusives

Source: Sony Pictures Sony Pictures has announced some exclusive events at Comic-Con 2012 that should interest fans of science fiction and Japanese cinema... RESIDENT EVIL: DAMNATION San Diego Conventer Center Room 5AB Friday, July 13 at 7:30pm Director Makoto Kamiya and producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi will premiere the new trailer and a sneak peek at the first seven minutes of the CG animated feature film. Makoto Kamiya previously directed the special effects for GODZILLA, MOTHRA AND KING GHIDORAH: GIANT MONSTERS ALL-OUT ATTACK (ゴジラ・モスラ・キングギドラ 大怪獣総攻撃, Gojira, Mosura, Kingu Gidora: Daikaiju Sokogeki, 2001), SINKING OF JAPAN (日本沈没, Nihon Chinbotsu, 2006) and GANTZ (前編, 2011). Hiroyuki Kobayashi has produced a number of hit video games as well as the RESIDENT EVIL film series. STARSHIP TROOPERS: INVASION IGNs Oasis Lounge at the Hard Rock Hotel, 207 5th Ave Saturday, July 14 at 1:00 Autograph session with executive producers Casper Van Dien and Ed Neumeier and director Shinji Aramaki. Casper Van Dien starred as the hero Johnny Rico in STARSHIP TROOPERS and STARSHIP TROOPERS 3: MARAUDER. His acting credits include the films TARZAN AND THE LOST CITY (1998), THE OMEGA CODE (1999), SLEEPY HOLLOW (1999), BORN TO RIDE (2011), SHIVER (2011) and PRINCE PAUL ROYAL EXILE (2011). Edward Neumeier wrote and co-produced ROBOCOP (1987) and all four films in the STARSHIP TROOPERS series. His credits include ROBOCOP 2 (1990), ROBOCOP 3 (1993) and ANACONDAS: THE HUNT FOR THE BLOOD ORCHID (2004). Shinji Aramaki directed the anime features APPLESEED (アップルシード, Appurushiido, 2004) and APPLESEED: EX-MACHINA (アップルシードエクスマキナ, Appurushiido Ex Machina, 2007).
