THERE IS NO ESCAPE FROM NATURE’S WRATH “Whips up a satisfying tempest of visual and special effects.” -The Hollywood Reporter
“A disaster film that is grand in scale” (San Francisco Chronicle), TIDAL WAVE debuts on Blu-ray Disc and DVD May 11 from Magnolia Home Entertainment under the Magnet Releasing Label. One of the most expensive and highest-grossing productions in Korean history, the “thoroughly entertaining” (Variety) film brings to the screen a mighty sea of CGI and special effects creating unprecedented sequences of destruction. When seismic activity detects that an impending mega-tsunami is barreling 500mph towards the picturesque shores of a tourist-packed beach resort, the oblivious vacationers aren’t even going to know what hit them. As a marine geologist races to alert the authorities, he encounters his ex-wife and the daughter he never knew he had, just as the massive wave heads their way. With more than 15 years of experience, the acclaimed CGI specialists of Polygon Entertainment (THE PERFECT STORM, THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW) and special effects supervisor Geoff Heron (PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN trilogy, TRANSFORMERS, TERMINATOR SALVATION) bring the spectacular wave to life in a breathless “non-stop barrage of special effects” that are “some of the best seen outside Hollywood” (BeyondHollywood.com). In the vein of films like THE HOST, TIDAL WAVE captures the raw energy of Mother Nature while exploring the delicate, interwoven relationships of the many characters scrambling to escape the raging ocean. Featuring deleted scenes, gag reel, ‘making of,’ and more, TIDAL WAVE will be available on Blu-ray Disc and DVD for the suggested retail prices of $29.98 and $26.98 respectively.
