From Monday, April 21st to Sunday, June 29th, 2025, Abeno Harukas' observation deck "Harukas 300" will hold a collaboration event with Toho's world famous character Godzilla, "Godzilla Attacks! Abeno Harukas Showdown" (ゴジラ襲来！あべのハルカス頂上決戦, Gojira Shūrai! Abeno Harukasu Chōjō Kessen).

Standing 300 meters in height, Abeno Harukas is a super high-rise complex that integrates a station, a department store, an art museum, offices, a hotel, and an observation deck. It is an environmentally friendly Vertical Eco City, designed with the environment in mind, with innovations such as the use of biogas power generation. In the complex, various businesses are being developed to enrich urban living, for example, the Kintetsu Department Store Main Store Abeno Harukas, which has the largest sales floor space in Japan; an urban-style art museum that can even display even national treasures; and an observation deck hosting various events. By integrating advanced and diverse urban functions, Abeno Harukas forms a city.

It's been 70 years since the first Godzilla film was released in 1954. GODZILLA MINUS ONE (ゴジラ-1.0/ゴジラマイナスワン, Gojira Mainasu Wan), released in November 2023, won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects at the 96th Academy Awards and is a popular film not only in Japan but also overseas.  This year marks the 70th anniversary of Godzilla's first landing in Osaka in the second film, GODZILLA RAIDS AGAIN (ゴジラの逆襲, Gojira no Gyakushū), released in 1955. In addition, the height of Godzilla Earth, which appears in the "Anigoji" anime trilogy (2017-18), is the same as the height of Abeno Harukas, 300 meters, so a collaboration between Godzilla and Abeno Harukas, a landmark of Osaka and Kansai, has been realized.

This event will feature a variety of content, including Godzilla from previous works and a collaboration with the TV anime series, CHIBI GODZILLA RAIDS AGAIN (ちびゴジラの逆襲, Chibi Gojira no Gyakushū), which is currently airing on TV Tokyo's OHA SUTA (おはスタ) children's show. Everyone from children to adults can enjoy the world of Godzilla to their heart's content, so be sure to take this opportunity to visit Abeno Harukas' observation deck, Harukas 300.

During the event, Harukas 300 observation deck will be hosting a Godzilla Earth statue display and decorations in the Sky Corridor on the 60th floor, limited-time workshops in the Sky Garden on the 58th floor, and a "Chibi Godzilla Keyword Rally" (ちびゴジラ キーワードラリー,  Chibi Gojira Kīwādo Rarī ) in which visitors can find standee panels placed throughout the observation deck and collect keywords to receive original novelty items.

In addition, the Godzilla Store Abeno Harukas Branch will be set up on the 16th floor, where the observation deck ticket counter is located, and will sell Godzilla merchandise.

● Original Postcard Giveaway

The first 10,000 attendees who present their admission ticket for Harukas 300 at the 60th floor information desk will receive an event exclusive postcard with artwork by monster designer Shinji Nishikawa.

● Godzilla Statue Display

A statue of Godzilla Earth from the animated film trilogy, approximately 2m x 2m (6.6 x 6.6 feet), will be displayed in the Tenjo Corridor on the 60th floor.

 

● Decorations Inside The Building

In the observation deck (58th to 60th floors), visitors can enjoy the following decorations inside the building...

● Defeat Godzilla and His Friends!

Five "tumblers" with monsters such as Godzilla and King Ghidorah will be placed on the special stage in the "Sky Garden" on the 58th floor, a space where visitors can play freely by defeating the monsters and taking photos.

● "Chibi Godzilla Keyword Rally"

Visitors can enjoy a keyword rally by searching for standee panels of the popular chibi monsters from the TV anime CHIBI GODZILLA RAIDS AGAIN placed around the observation deck. Those who collect all the keywords will receive an "original badge" as a prize.

● Paint Your Own Godzilla or Mothra Workshop!

At the Sky Garden on the 58th floor, children and adults alike can partkae in the "Godzilla and Mothra Unglazed Color Painting  Experience" (ゴジラ・モスラ素焼き色塗り体験, Gojira Mosura Suyaki-iro-nuri Taiken), based on the Godzilla attraction at the "Nijigen no Mori" theme park in Hyogo Prefectural Awajishima. Visitors can paint and keep their own unglazed Godzilla or Mothra statue.

● Coloring Booth Corner

A booth corner will be set up on the 60th floor "Ceiling Corridor" where visitors can color in Godzilla and other monsters. In addition, from Monday, April 21 - Sunday, May 11, forty of the colored illustrations will be exhibited along the Ceiling Corridor.

● Meet "Chibi Godzilla"! Greeting Event

Chibi Godzilla will appear in the observation deck (58th to 60th floors) on the following dates...

The Godzilla Store Abeno Harukas Branch will be set up on the 16th floor, the observation deck ticket counter floor. Godzilla merchandise will be sold.
