KThingS Co., Ltd. (Chuo-ku, Tokyo), which produces and sells licensed character products, will be hosting the "Chibi Godzilla Raids Again & Odekake Kozame POP UP SHOP" (ちびゴジラの逆襲 & おでかけ子ザメ POP UP SHOP, Chibi Gojira no Gyakushū & Odekake Kozame POP UP SHOP) in the wagon under the G stairs on Tokyo Character Street at Tokyo Station Ichibangai. This partnership between Toho's Chibi Godzilla and the popular social media character Odekake Kozame (Baby Shark) from Friday, February 14 to Thursday, February 27, 2025. Visitors will be able to purchase exclsuive merchandise and even meet the two characters, who will be dressed up as each other.
Chibi Godzilla was introduced in 2018 as part of the lead-in for Godzilla's 65th anniversary the following year. Designed by Chiharu Sakazaki, Chibi Godzilla is intended to be an "introductory Godzilla" that younger children can relate to and hopefully become the first step in creating future generations of Godzilla fans. The cute monster has been featured in a collection of books, a wide range of merchandising, educational campaigns and the anime series, CHIBI GODZILLA RAIDS AGAIN (ちびゴジラの逆襲, Chibi Gojira no Gyakushū), now in its second season.
The hit "baby shark" manga Odekake Kozame (おでかけ子ザメ) was created by the artist Penguin Box. This series, which depicts the heartwarming daily life of a little shark, began as a short story posted on social media. It quickly attracted a strong following with Penguin Box's official X page having more than 380,000 followers. The manga has been collected in five volumes to date, and an anime feature film is currently in the works. In 2023, Odekake Kozame had a promotional collaboration with the daikaiju anime series GAMERA -Rebirth- (ガメラ リバース, Gamera Ribāsu).
Tokyo Character Street is home to dozens of themed stores dedicated to the likes of Ultraman, Pokémon, Studio Ghibli, Hello Kitty, Rilakkuma, Kamen Rider and Nameko.
