Toho has provided information and images from the upcoming anime film, CRAYON SHIN-CHAN THE MOVIE: OUR DINOSAUR DIARY (映画クレヨンしんちゃん△オラたちの恐竜日記, Eiga Kureyon Shinchan △ Tachi no Kyōryū Nikki), opening in Japan on August 9th.

The movie is the 32nd feature film for the popular Crayon Shin-chan franchise created by Yoshito Usui, which follows the comedic misadventures of Shinnosuke "Shin-chan" Nohara, a mischievous five-year-old who often says inappropriate things and cannot resist pretty ladies, regardless of their age. Shin-chan`s family includes his baby sister Himawari, their mother Misae who gets hysterical whenever her two kids are misbehaving in public, dad Hiroshi, an average office worker who has smelly feet, and their pet dog Shiro. The manga has been serialized in Monthly Manga Action since 1990 with the anime TV adaptation premiering on TV Asahi in 1992. The first movie, CRAYON SHIN-CHAN: ACTION MASK VS. LEOTARD DEVIL (クレヨンしんちゃんアクション仮面VSハイグレ魔王, Kureyon Shinchan: Akushon Kamen tai Haigure Maō), was released in 1993. Crayon Shin-chan has remained popular with audiences of all ages, with Toho and TV Asahi reporting that last year's movie, the fully CG-animated NEW DIMENSION! CRAYON SHIN-CHAN THE MOVIE: GREAT PSYCHOKINETIC BATTLE ~ FLYING HAND-ROLLED SUSHI ~ (しん次元！クレヨンしんちゃんTHE MOVIE 超能力大決戦～とべとべ手巻き寿司～, Shin Jigen! Kureyon Shinchan THE MOVIE Chō Nōryoku Daikessen ～ Tobetobe Temakizushi ～ ), has exceeded 2.47 billion yen in box office revenue, setting a new record for the series.

The sory for the new film revolves around dinosaurs that have been revived in modern times and wreak havoc in Kasukabe and Tokyo. Shiro and the Kasukabe Defense Force meet a small dinosaur and a friendship develops that transcends the boundaries of life.

Among the voice cast, which features the returning main cast from the previous five Shin-chan films, is guest actor Takumi Kitamura, leader of the pop/rock band and dance group Dish who previously starred in the live-action film series adaptation of TOKYO REVENGERS. Two more additional guest voice actors are the comedy duo Shunsuke Ito and Yu Hatanaka, known by their collective stage name, “Oswald.”

STORY

A huge theme park that brings dinosaurs back to life in modern times, "Dino's Island," opens in Tokyo! Children and adults alike are crazy about dinosaurs! The world is in a dinosaur fever!

Around this time, Shinnosuke and his friends have been spending a special summer with "Nana," a small dinosaur that Shiro met. The Nohara family forms a new bond with Shiro, saying, "I guess that's how we became family..."

The Nohara family is now newly bonded, and an unbelievable battle begins over Nana! Bubble Odoroki, the creator of Dino's Island, seeks Nana's whereabouts by any means necessary before a certain "secret" is revealed...

Shinnosuke then meets Billy, someone who knows Nana's secret, and the pair decide to work together. However, trouble occurs and the dinosaurs make their big escape and rampage through Kasukabe and Tokyo! Buildings are destroyed and cars are knocked over, putting Shinnosuke and Shiro in great trouble!

The Nohara family, who still have 32 years left on their mortgage, are trampled by dinosaurs and Hiroshi is reduced to tears.

What is the secret of Nana, with whom they spent the summer together?

Shinnosuke, Shiro, and the Kasukabe Defense Force will fight hard in Shibuya, Tokyo to protect their reptilian friend! The climax awaits them as they face off against the giant dinosaurs with never-ending laughter and tears!
