Toho Co., Ltd. has provided information and high-res images from their new anime film, DDORAEMON THE MOVIE: NOBITA`S CHRONICLE OF THE MOON EXPLORATION (?????????????????, Eiga Doraemon Nobita no Getsumen Tansa-ki). The 39th movie in the franchise opened in Japan on March 1, 2019 and topped the domestic box office in its first two weeks of release. The success of NOBITA`S CHRONICLE OF THE MOON EXPLORATION continues a trend for the series. The popularity of the Doaemon films have exploded in recent years with DORAEMON THE MOVIE: NOBITA AND THE BIRTH OF JAPAN 2016 (??????? ??????????, Eiga Doraemon Shin • Nobita no Nihon Tanjo), 2017`s DORAEMON THE MOVIE: GREAT ADVENTURE IN THE ANTARCTIC KACHI KOCHI (??????? ?????????????, Eiga Doraemon Nobita no Nankyoku Kachikochi Daib?ken) and last year`s DORAEMON THE MOVIE: NOBITA’S TREASURE ISLAND (??????? ??????, Eiga Doraemon Nobita no Takarajima) each gaining in ticket sales and revenue. The ever-increasing popularity of the series has made Doraemon the Number 1 family movie for the spring break season. DORAEMON THE MOVIE: NOBITA`S CHRONICLE OF THE MOON EXPLORATION is directed by Shinnosuke Yakuwa, returning to the helm for the first time since NOBITA AND THE BIRTH OF JAPAN 2016. The screenplay was written by Natsuki Prize winning novelist Mizuki Tsujimura. The guest voice cast includes Alice Hirose (THE SEA OF SEIRO: DETECTIVE MITARAI’S CASEBOOK, ACID BLACK CHERRY: L, SHINJUKU SWAN, HYOUKA: FORBIDDEN SECRETS), Soichi Nakaoka (HELLO DETECTIVE HEDGEHOG, THE NIGHT IS SHORT, WALK ON GIRL) of the comedy team Lotti, Shigeo Takahashi (DORAEMON THE MOVIE: GREAT ADVENTURE IN THE ANTARCTIC KACHI KOCHI) from the comedy duo Savanna, Yusuke Yanagi (UNFORGIVEN, GASSOH, GINTAMA, GINTAMA 2: RULES ARE MADE TO BE BROKEN) and Kotaro Yoshida (THE NEXT GENERATION PATLABOR -TOKYO WAR-, THE LIES SHE LOVED, LOVE X DOC, OVER DRIVE). Th e film`s the theme song is performed by the up-and-coming artist, Dai Hirai.

STORY The big news is a white shadow on the far side of the moon, photographed by a lunar probe. Nobita insists that it is the legendary "rabbit of the moon!", but everyone laughs at him. Doraemon uses his secret tool, the History Explorers Club Badge, and he and Nobita discover there is, indeed, a Rabbit Kingdom on the moon. Shortly thereafter, a mysterious boy named Luca transfers to Nobita`s school. Nobita and Luca go to the Rabbit Kingdom where they meet kids with a mysterious power called `espal`...
