Nijigen No Mori theme park's popular attraction, "Godzilla Interception Operation" (ゴジラ迎撃作戦 ~国立ゴジラ淡路島研究センター~, Gojira Geigeki Sakusen ~ Kokuritsu Gojira Awajishima Kenkyū Sentā ~), is hosting the "Mothra Paper Airplane Flying Competition" (モスラ紙ヒコーキをとばしたい会, Mosura-shi Hikōki o Tobashitai Kai), a craft experience for elementary school students and younger, through December 3, 2023.
In this event, visitors can create their own original Mothra Paper Airplane by painting their favorite colors on the Mothra art paper. Visitors can not only take home their Mothra Paper Airplane but also enter it in the Competition, which will be held at a time TBA on the large lawn in front of the "Godzilla Interception Operation" area.
In the competition, participants see which paper airplane will fly the furthest, and the winner will receive a medal badge with an original "Godzilla Interception Operation" design. The other contestants will be given commemorative badges for participating.
With the release of GODZILLA MINUS ONE (ゴジラ-1.0/ゴジラマイナスワン, Gojira Mainasu Wan), a film commemorating the 70th anniversary of Godzilla, on November 3, this fall truly begins the year of Godzilla! Now set the record for the longest flight with your own unique Mothra Paper Airplane that no one can beat! Win the Godzilla-level record and brag about it to your friends!
What is the Godzilla interception Operation?
"Godzilla Interception Operation" is the world's only entertainment attraction where you can fully experience the power and power of Godzilla, with the theme of the world's largest life-size Godzilla that landed on Awaji Island.
Participants become members of the National Awaji Island Institute of Godzilla Disaster (NIGOD) and after receiving an explanation of the "Godzilla Interception Operation" that unfolds against Godzilla who has appeared on Awaji Island through a movie-like attraction video produced by Toho.
In the world's first permanent "Godzilla Museum", which is attached, with the cooperation of Toho Visual Art Co., Ltd., which has been responsible for the special effects of the Godzilla movies, there are powerful dioramas that make you feel like you are in front of a movie scene.
