Godzilla Store Shibuya Opens at Shibuya PARCO on April 25th

Godzilla has landed at Shibuya PARCO!! On Friday, April 25th, Toho Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) will open Godzilla Store Shibuya (「ゴジラ・ストア Shibuya」, Gojira Sutoa Shibuya), the fifth official Godzilla merchandise store in Japan, at Shibuya PARCO.

It has been 70 years since the first Godzilla film (1954) was released. GODZILLA MINUS ONE (ゴジラ-1.0/ゴジラマイナスワン, Gojira Mainasu Wan), released in November 2023, was a huge hit not only in Japan but also in North America, and won numerous film awards both at home and abroad. In addition, Godzilla's momentum knows no bounds, with the fifth film in the Hollywood Monsterverse series, GODZILLA X KONG: THE NEW EMPIRE, exceeding 84.5 billion yen (approximately $555 million USD) in box office revenue worldwide.

At Godzilla Store Shibuya, visitors will be greeted by a giant 2 meter (6.6 feet) statue of Godzilla (1995) from the movie GODZILLA VS. DESTOROYAH (ゴジラＶＳデストロイア, Gojira vs Desutoroia). This is a completely new sculpture created specifically for Godzilla Store Shibuya. At different times throughout the day, sound effects and music will play, and the statue's body will glow and transform into the rampaging "Burning Godzilla"!

★GODZILLA THE ART Corner★

The Godzilla Store will have a corner devoted to "GODZILLA THE ART," an art project that started at Shibuya PARCO as a celebration of the 70th anniversary of Godzilla's birth and has now reached its fourth session. "GODZILLA THE ART" figures will also be on sale. This corner will also feature new works by COIN PARKING DELIVERY, an artist participating in "GODZILLA THE ART."

At the Mori Arts Center Gallery (52nd floor, Mori Tower, Roppongi Hills), the "Godzilla 70th Anniversary Godzilla The Art Exhibition" (ゴジラ生誕70周年記念ゴジラ・THE・アート展, Gojira Seitan 70 Sshūnenkinen Gojira THE Āto-ten), a culmination of the series, will be held from Saturday, April 26th to Sunday, June 29th.
