Toho Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) will open a Godzilla goods specialty shop, "Godzilla Store Daiba" (「ゴジラ・ストア Daiba」, Gojira Sutoa Daiba), on Friday, March 14, 2025, at DiverCity Tokyo Plaza (5F) in the bustling Odaiba area in Tokyo Bay.

It has been 70 years since the first Godzilla film (1954) was released. GODZILLA MINUS ONE (ゴジラ-1.0/ゴジラマイナスワン, Gojira Mainasu Wan), released in November 2023, was a huge hit not only in Japan but also in North America, and won numerous film awards both at home and abroad. In addition, Godzilla's momentum knows no bounds, with the fifth film in the Hollywood Monsterverse series, GODZILLA X KONG: THE NEW EMPIRE, exceeding 84.5 billion yen (approximately $555 million USD) in box office revenue worldwide.

The fourth official Godzilla store in Japan, Godzilla Store Daiba, will be the world's largest. It will include a number of features to make the store fun.

At the front of the store visitors will be greeted by a huge 2m statue of Godzilla (2016) from the movie SHIN GODZILLA (シン・ゴジラ, Shin Gojira). There's also a huge Gashapon (capsule toy) machine called "Monster Capsule" where fans can get a deformed figure of the Godzilla "Enshrined Monsters" in Daiba-exclusive colors, a photo spot with a large collection of Godzillas from all the generations, and the "Godzilla Store Daiba Photo Studio", a photo spot for figures and stuffed toys created and supervised by Toho Eizo Bijutsu, the company that produced the actual Godzilla movie sets.

The launch of Godzilla Store Daiba is part of a major spring upgrade for DiverCity Tokyo Plaza. "Crayon Shinchan Cinema Parade Tour” and ‘Rashinban,’ will open for the first time in the Koto-ku area, and a “NIKE” sports brand store will open on the 4th floor on Friday, March 28, 2025. There will also be new Toys “R” Us, GRANUP CHARACTER SHOP, and KARATECHOP ART&TOY, while the exisiting Tower Records Mini and Village Vanguard stores have been improved.

By bringing together the official stores of tokusatsu and anime that are very popular with stores that are opening in the area for the first time, the west side of the 5th floor will be transformed into an area that can be enjoyed not only by tourists from Japan and abroad, but also by people of all ages, from those who want to pursue their hobbies to families who want to create memories with their children.

● About the Giant Capsule Machine "Monster Capsule"

The Monster Capsule is one of the largest capsule machines in Japan, developed by Smile Tank in January 2021. It stands 2.4m (7.9 Feet) tall, and has been installed in many shopping malls, sporting venues for sumo wrestling and professional baseball, and outdoor events led by local governments.

■ "Godzilla Store Daiba Photo Studio" (「ゴジラ・ストアDaiba Photo Studio」, Gojira Sutoa Daiba Photo Studio)

Godzilla Store Daiba will have a photo studio where visitors can play with monster figures. They can place their own figures or stuffed toys and take photos of their own original Godzilla world. This studio was created by Toho Eizo Bijutsu, the company in charge of the sets for the actual Godzilla movies. Although it is a miniature size, it is extremely realistic!

■ Wall Visuals And Photo Spots

The store's walls are decorated with a visuals of a large collection of Godzillas from all generations. Visitors are welcome to take a commemorative photo with the imposing Godzilla!

Fans will also find Godzilla outside the store! To celebrate the opening, a 1m statue of Godzilla -1.0 (2023) will be installed near the Daiba Station gate on the 3rd floor for a limited time. Godzilla will also appear on announcements in DiverCity Tokyo Plaza, and fans can enjoy looking for Godzilla inside the building.
