Tsuburaya Productions Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and COO: Masayuki Nagatake) has provided SciFi Japan with an update for ULTRAMAN ARC THE MOVIE: THE CLASH OF LIGHT AND EVIL (ウルトラマンアークTHE MOVIE 超次元大決戦!光と闇のアーク, Urutoraman  Āku THE MOVIE Chō Jigen Daikessen! Hikari to Yami no Āku), providing new details on the story, characters, cast, poster, trailer, screening theaters, movie tickets, and giveaways for the upcoming theatrical feature. The movie will be released in theaters across Japan on Friday, February 21, 2025.

The popular TV series ULTRAMAN ARC (ウルトラマンアーク, Urutoraman  Āku, 2024), which is broadcast every Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. JST on TV Tokyo's six affiliated stations and simulcast streamed worldwide, comes to the big screen with a powerful story.

In this film, Ultraman Arc engages in a great hyperdimensional battle against “Guil Arc” (ギルアーク, Giru Aku), a mysterious giant in the form of a black Arc. This latest incarnation joins the long history of dark heroes that have appeared throughout the ULTRAMAN series, each one capturing the imagination of fans, especially children. Whether as a camouflage for invading aliens, a creature created by evil forces, or an Ultra Hero who has fallen into darkness, the concept of a dark hero has been a recurring theme. In this new film, audiences will discover the origin of this latest dark hero and witness an intense battle against the true hero. This epic showdown set in hyperspace promises to deliver an unforgettable spectacle.

The well-known actor, Naoto Takenaka (SHALL WE DANCE?, CYBORG SHE, KAMEN RIDER GHOST), plays the role of “Space Sage Diggle Alien Sascal" (宇宙賢者ディグル星人 サスカル,Uchū Kenja Diguru Hoshibito Sasukaru), an enigmatic being who puts the main character, Yuma Hize (played by Yuki Totsuka), a young man who transforms into Ultraman Arc, through an ultimate ordeal beyond his imagination.

Starting Friday, December 27th, Movie Ticket Cards featuring an image of Ultraman Arc and Guil Arc glaring at each other will be on sale. In addition, as a gift for first-week admission from February 21st, a limited number of Gil Arc promotional cards from the ULTRAMAN CARD GAME (ウルトラマン カードゲーム, Urutoraman Kādo Gēmu), which has been well-received in 23 countries and regions around the world, will be given away.

Please look forward to this latest installment of ULTRAMAN ARC THE MOVIE: THE CLASH OF LIGHT AND EVIL, which will be shown in 183 theaters in Japan and around the world.

    Synopsis

"The question is whether you are qualified to be a hero..."

These words spoken by Sascal, a strange man who calls himself the “Sage of the Universe,” to the hero, Yuma Hize, are the beginning of this battle. Yuma is faced with the ultimate test.

"If you fail, you will lose your power as an Arc..."

The peace of Hoshimoto City that he has protected as a member of "SKIP" (Scientific Kaiju Investigation and Prevention Center), the bonds of trust he has built with his comrades, and the conflicts that he has often faced regarding the meaning of defeating monsters... Now, the weight of these missions that he has borne alone because he has obtained the light to transform into Ultraman are being toyed with by Sascal and attack Yuma one after another!

In the midst of the attacks by giant monsters, rampaging evil aliens, and a hyperdimension where even time and space have been distorted, the black Ultraman Arc, “Guil Arc,” finally reveals itself.

Can Yuma (and Ultraman Arc) be able to overcome the greatest challenge beyond his “imagination” and protect the future?

The members of SKIP's Hoshimoto City branch office - Rin Natsume (Kaho Mizutani), YouPi, Shu Ishido (Sho Kaneta), Yuma and Hiroshi Ban (Koichiro Nishi) - investigate the mystery of Gartura, the Interstellar Parasitic Plant. Comment by Naoto Takenaka

Who would’ve thought I would be in the famous ULTRAMAN series! It’s something I never thought it would happen!

To think I’ll be able to leave my mark on the franchise I watched as a child! Wow!

My favorite Ultraman series was THE RETURN OF ULTRAMAN!

    What was my favorite part...?

The lead actor, Jiro Dan, of course! I was impressed by the action of Jiro Dan transforming without using a Flash Beam [Beta Capsule]! I was also fascinated by the color of the images, which were somewhat shadowy and indescribably dark, unlike the bright images of the past! And the exquisite casting of Shin Kishida and Rumi Sakakibara! Wow!

Ah! Oh my God! If it keeps going like this it won't end! ULTRAMAN ARC THE MOVIE! What in the world kind of role am I going to play in this? I can't help but have a feeling that something incredible is about to happen! Ladies and gentlemen! I'm really looking forward to seeing you all at the cinema! Woohoo!
