    GODZILLA Week 12 Box Office: Update

    Latest Box Office Numbers from Warner Bros. and Toho Source: Rentrak Corporation, Warner Bros. Entertainment, Toho Co., Ltd. Official Site: Godzillamovie.com Special Thanks to Paul Dergarabedian and Brenda Johns Today, Toho sent Warner Bros. the official box office numbers for GODZILLA`s second weekend in Japan. The confirmed weekend results for GODZILLA came in higher than yesterday`s studio projections at ¥343.4 million (Approximately $3.4 million US). The estimated cume to date in Japan is now ¥1.557 billion (Approximately $15.3 million US). Playing on 427 screens (the same screen number as opening weekend), GODZILLA`s ticket sales dropped 32% from last week -- a percentage Warner Bros. described as "excellent". The film finished at 2nd place for the weekend behind Warner Entertainment Japan`s RUROUNI KENSHIN: KYOTO INFERNO (????????????, Rurouni Kenshin Kyoto Taika Hen) which opened to a stellar ¥822.7 million (Approximately $8.1 million US) on 438 screens. KYOTO INFERNO is a sequel to the hugely successful 2012 movie RUROUNI KENSHIN, and the opening weekend’s Sat/Sun results surpassed the first film by 48%. With the final weekend numbers from Japan, GODZILLA`s international cume to date is $307.5 million, for a worldwide cume of $508 million. In the United States, GODZILLA brought in $241,850 from 277 screens (down from 302 the week before). The domestic cume now stands at $200,163,953.
