      It is believed that the very first anime in Japan was made a long time ago in 1917 while the very first Japanese anime series appeared on TV in 1963 and this was Astro Boy. Since this time, numerous anime movies and series were produced and released and every year, new anime movies appear for all fans. The anime industry in Japan has been growing and flourishing for quite some time while Japanese animes are also enjoyed by anime fans residing outside of Japan. Fred Ladd wrote and directed the Americanization of Osamu Tezuka's ASTROBOY. ©Tezuka Production Fred Ladd was a pioneer in entertainment and the man responsible for introducing Japanese animation or as it is known now anime, to the Western world. Ladd was born in Toledo, Ohio on February 19, 1927. He graduated from Ohio State University with degrees in radio and speech. Today it was revealed that Daisuke Ban has been signed for the movie. Ban is best known as the star of the popular Toei superhero series KIKAIDA (人造人間キカイダー, Jinzō Ningen Kikaidā, 1972-73) and INAZUMAN (イナズマン, 1973-74) and has appeared in numerous tokusatsu shows and movies.
