The screening of HELCK will be presented in English subtitles and take place on Saturday, July 1 in the Platinum Ballroom at the JW Marriott in Los Angeles, Calif. Earlier this year, HIDIVE announced its acquisition of HELCK, which is based on the popular shōnen manga written and illustrated by Nanaki Nanao. The film focuses on the members of the girls' band "Togenashi Togeari" (トゲナシトゲアリ,  meaning "Prickly Ant"), who are played by five singers/voice actors selected in the "Girl's Rock Audition" hosted by agehasprings. The movie is directed by Kazuo Sakai, with character designs by Nari Teshima, CG direction by Mari Kondo and Jae Hoon Jung, music by Kenji Tamai (agehasprings), and production by Toei Animation. A second trailer, featuring cast members Takehito Koyasu and Reina Ueda, has also been released. Daiki Kobayashi’s action manga of the same name is currently serialized in Monthly Gangan Joker. The titular Ragna is a dragon hunter, armed with a silver blade and tasked with felling draconic prey. The anime announcement generated buzz both in Japan and overseas. The anime will begin its broadcast on September 30th on TOKYO MX, MBS, and BS11.
