GENDA GiGO Entertainment, Inc. (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Kazuhiro Ninomiya, President & CEO) will release collaboration taiyakis on Friday, October 27, 2023 (Friday) to celebrate the theatrical release of GODZILLA MINUS ONE (ゴジラ-1.0/ゴジラマイナスワン, Gojira Mainasu Wan). Taiyaki are cakes, filled with different flavors of cream or paste, that are traditionally shaped like fish. These "Godzilla-yaki" (ゴジラ焼き, Gojira-yaki) are in the shape of cute Godzilla (2023) and Chibi Godzilla and will be sold for a limited time at GiGO's taiyaki shops in Japan.

■ Chibi Godzilla

Always cheerful and innocent, but sometimes unable to control his destructive impulses., Chibi Godzilla is a little monster who yearns for his father, the great monster Godzilla. The character is based on the world-famous Godzilla, and was designed by Chiharu Sakazaki, a popular illustrator known for Suica Penguin (Suicaのペンギン, Suika no Pengin) and Chiba Prefecture's mascot Chi-ba+kun (チーバくん).

Chibi Godzilla is widely known as the star of the pre-screening movie shown at Toho Cinemas nationwide, and also had his opwn series, CHIBI GODZILLA RAIDS AGAIN (ちびゴジラの逆襲, Chibi Gojira no Gyakushū, 2023).

 

■ Godzilla-1.0

GODZILLA MINUS ONE, a film commemorating the 70th anniversary of Godzilla, is directed by Takashi Yamazaki, who also wrote the screenplay and created the VFX.
